Dermabond for those not familiar is super glue for you. You can use it sometimes as a replacement for sutures, or as a cover for wounds. Now as always, if you are going to try a product or use it make sure you know who what when where and why! Also CLEAN the wound thouroughly before you seal it up. You dot want to close a dirty wound and risk infection down the line, making what could have been a rather minor situation now very serious. There are links on how to use it on youtube to make it easier. and if in doubt, keep it on hand and find someone who knows how to do it.

Thanks for sharing this! Every time I go camping, I always remember to bring the dermabond with me because you never know what kind of injuries you can sustain in the outdoors. I agree that cleaning the wound is something that you should always do first before applying the dermabond since you don't want to get any infections.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting Chase, I always preach to folks about wound cleansing as soon as possible. I learned the hard way once. Went mountain biking in an area that had recently flooded. Got scratched up and ended up with a very serious staph infection on both of my legs. Took almost a month and several different antibiotics to get it under control. Had I taken a little extra time to treat my wounds when they happened I might have avoided getting the infection...
